ALASKA-YUKON-PACIFIC-EXPOSITION CENTENNIAL

American History Day - 2009

In keeping with the Alaska Yukon Pacific Expo (AYPE) Centennial celebrations which took place this past year, several patriotic organizations who took part in the original AYPE event, developed and participated in this once in a lifetime American History Day event.

The event included Civil War and Revolutionary War reenactors, fashion of the era, lectures, historical demonstrations and information provided by many historical and heritage groups.

The event was open to the general public so that we could all learn more about our country's interesting and amazing history.

American History Day was held at Pioneer Hall on September 26, 2009 and included:

Remember the Women That Served: 100 years of Women's Military and Service Uniforms – with Alice Miller
2th Connecticut Colonial Reenactors
WA State Sons of the American Revolution
WA United States Daughters of 1812
Washington Civil War Association
Puget Sound Civil War Round Table
WA Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War
Robert E. Lee Chapter #885, UDC
R.E. Lee Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp in Seattle
Snoqualmie Nation
Association of King County Historical Organizations (AKCHO)

Even though this event is over, we are always on the lookout for other similar organizations in helping to make such future events even more spectacular! If you are interested in working alongside national historical organizations like these, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
